About Us

Oakenhurst Aircraft Trading was formed in 1987 by Peter Caudell, a licensed aircraft engineer who has worked for various airlines worldwide, and Paul Trice who worked for Caledonian Airways as a logistics manager for many years. Both saw an opportunity in the aircraft industry to primarily trade in the sale, lease and exchange of aircraft spares and equipment.

Since that time the company has built up considerable stocks of rotables and consumable parts and along with the management of its consignment stock, all parts have full traceability and conform to FAR145-EASA145 with 8130-3/ EASA 145 release documentation.

In 1994 a need was seen to control the repair and overhaul of components which in turn would benefit the cost to our customers. So to meet this requirement Oakenhurst introduces an in house repair capability using known repair agencies, which met our criteria and taking it further by controlling embodiment loans into the repair units. This has been established as part of our trading requirement.

It soon became clear that control of customer's repairs needed further attention and our own workshop facility, The Avionics Workshop, was formed in Southend to cope with increasing demand, operating to JAR145 standards.

1997 has seen further expansion for the Oakenhurst Group, the Component Overhaul Division moved to a new, larger purpose-built facility at Claydons Lane, Rayleigh.

Following the recruitment of highly skilled, experienced and respected team of engineers the company now offers Electrical, Generation and Radio Radar Service Facilities, along with its already established Gyro and Instrumentation service.

Our 10,000 sq. ft. purpose built facility holds today's state-of-the-art test equipment, a computerised management system and a commitment to provide quality and efficient service from a professional and dedicated team of people.
